JCSP Students Get Creative
The Home Economics Department had great fun this afternoon as Rachel Goudie visited to give a cake decorating class to 2nd and 3rd Year Students as part of a JCSP Initiative.
Rachel talked about her enjoyment of Home Economics at school and her love of baking. This has inspired her to complete a Masters in Home Economics. She spoke about setting up her own business called, The Three Mugs. She explained how her hobby has now turned into a viable business. She gave an insight into setting up her own business and the importance of food hygiene when serving food to the public. Students were delighted to receive a voucher for a free coffee/hot chocolate next time they are passing.
Students had so much fun using buttercream icing and learning how to pipe decoratively, creating fantastic Halloween Themed Cupcakes.
Ms Butler and Ms Mc Granaghan were delighted with the students work, their creativity and icing skills. Well done to all and hopefully they will re-create their designs over the Halloween break.
