Annual Variety Concert:

Finn Valley College Annual Variety Concert: Well being in Action!

Over the last number of years, Finn Valley College has celebrated Christmas with some fabulous Variety Concerts.  A central part of these shows has been active participation, development of self esteem and expanding friendship groups while enabling the students to take responsibility in their own personal growth and leadership roles. The Balor Theatre certainly came alive with the theme of this years show “The Magic of the Movies” as students responded to the challenges a two hour live show presents.

The production team, led by Lisa Treanor, Shaun Byrne, Nicole McCafferty and Freddie Godliman, always recommend that as many students as possible get involved.  They believe that participation in the show is a great tool for development of core values like self- confidence, self- expression and personal growth. The role of the school concert provides a valuable experience for all; from those onstage with lead and chorus roles to those who run our backstage, props, costumes and front stage production.

Through music, dance, drama, singing and comedy, students and staff once again entertained families, friends, indeed the whole Finn Valley Community while along the way learning and development took place as the energy and enthusiasm of the performers was reciprocated by that of the audience. Furthermore, the air of positivity between staff and students involved is palpable every year when it comes to showtime.

A huge well done to everyone who was involved in what was an uplifting and highly entertaining show.

2021 VARIETY SHOW GOES VIRTUAL

Unfortunately due to Covid, our annual variety show has had to go virtual and online.  But don’t be disappointed as the staff and students of FVC have put together another fabulous piece of entertainment with their “Twelve Days of Christmas” Show.  Well done to all on what is truly a magical concert of song, dance and poetry, preparing us for the true meaning of Christmas and inspiring us to be resilient.  After all the show must go on!!
