Best wishes to Mr Mc Granaghan

Friday 1st October saw the school mark Mr Mick Mc Granaghan’s last day in Finn Valley College.  Staff and students bid farewell to their colleague and teacher in the Woodwork Room over a cuppa where they met throughout the day to share memories and stories.

Mr Mc Granaghan has worked with the school for over 20 years having joined us from the Royal and Prior. During his time he has supported many students and helped them towards a brighter future.  Our Principal, Mr Thompson  wished him all the best on his next journey saying that “he will be able to look back with pride and satisfaction at the support and mentoring that he provided to many of our students”.
Our Deputy Principal, Ms Boland highlighted that he has formed many friendships with the staff and was a supportive colleague. The Practical Departments will miss Mr Mc Granaghan and his calm and cool persona.
Students from class Boland thanked him for his role as their class teacher.  Third year students, also presented him with a treasure box of memories wishing him a very long and happy retirement. John Gregg (Class Kavanagh) played “The River” by Gareth Brooks and some of Mr Mc Granaghan’s favourite songs to wish him farewell.
Oonagh worked her creative talents as usual producing a fabulous cake and treats to mark the occasion. Thanks to Ms Boland, Jennifer and all those who helped out decorating the room.  Below are a few photos of Mr Mc Granaghans last day in the job.
Congratulations and best wishes on your next journey. All at FVC wish to remind you that you are always welcome to come to the school for a catch up.
