The senior boys gaelic team enjoyed a hard fought victory over Errigal college to hold the advantage going into the return tie.

Lead superbly by full forward and captain Dylan ‘Del’ Laverty with a 2-02 haul, the lads had to pull out all the stops to overcome a talented Errigal side after a thrilling finish. Finding themselves 4 points down with five minutes left on the clock the young FVC team, missing a large number of senior players, showed great heart and desire to haul themselves back into the game and nick it in the end thanks to a last minute wonder free from Laverty from the tightest of angles.

There were many fine performances on the day, with Justin Mc Bride, Dylan Irwin, Sean Dooley and Shane ‘Baker’ Mc Glinchey showing well, while the young defensive line of Michael Mc Colgan, Adam Callaghan and Jordan Tourish also stood up well to the task.

Other scorers on the day were Kenan Sweeney 1-01, Justin Mc Bride 0-02, Sean Dooley 0-01, Dylan Irwin 0-01, Conor Gallagher 0-01, Chris Darby 0-01.

Many thanks to Anthony Bogle and Martin Mc Laughlin for their expertise and help on the day.
