Peggy Galvin retires

Mr Dooley makes a formal presentation to Peggy to mark her retirement

Saturday night saw the College staff, past and present, gather to pay tribute to our recently retired cleaner Mrs Peggy Galvin.

The Drumboe Suite in Jacksons was the venue and Peggy was accompanied on the night by her husband Eamon, her three children, Anna, Alan and Sarah and their partners. After a beautiful meal, tributes were paid to Peggy by Mr Dooley, former Principal Brian Mc Dermott, and her former colleagues Ignatious and Seamus.

Peggy was presented with a few tokens of our appreciation including a ‘Mini Henry Hoover’ and a photo frame containing a poem penned by Jennifer Gallagher. One of the highlights of the night was the moving, and at times hilarious, slide-show put together by Mr Mc Daid. Peggy, being a woman of few words, simply thanked everyone she had the pleasure to work with over her fifteen years in Finn Valley College. Music was provided on the night by the excellent Johnny Callaghan who kept the dancefloor filled until the wee small hours.
