Getting in the mood for Christmas
The staff and students of FVC are busy getting in the mood for Christmas. From bringing the theme of Christmas into their classes making decorations, baking goodies to learning about the history of Christmas to greetings in different languages.
Of course the theme of Charity and giving is a huge part of the spirit of this time of year also. Well done to all the students who fund raised and participated in the Christmas Outfit day in aid of the Christmas Shoebox Appeal for the Team Hope Foundation.
Unfortunately this year we are unable to have our annual Christmas Party in Jacksons Hotel. Each year the businesses sponsor prizes for a Christmas Draw for students to participate in. In return for their kindness over the years the staff and students fund raised to donate over €700 to local charities Cúnamh and St. Vincent De Paul as a thank you on behalf of the businesses who continually support and generously donate to our school throughout the year. Members of the school body have been asked to shop local this year in return for the support businesses give to the community.
And of course, how can we forget the wonderful talents of our students who have participated in our virtual annual Christmas Variety Show. Well done to all who are entertaining us with a variety of acts each day to bring the Christmas cheer to us all. Check out our school Facebook and Twitter account for some wonderful music, poetry, comedy and dance that is sure to bring glee to your day.
We wish all our students, families, staff and the Finn Valley College community a very happy and safe Christmas. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
