Success at the VEX NW Robotics Competition
Everyone at FVC is so proud of and delighted for our Robotics team who won the Best Design Award at the VEX Northwest Regional Robotics Competition held at ATU Donegal on Wednesday. This award was presented based on the high standard of computer coding that made our FVC robot operational throughout the competition.
Even a narrow defeat in the overall final didn’t tarnish the excitement at today’s nail biting event. Extremely proud of our students whose problem solving skills and strategic thinking secured a place in the All Ireland Final in Cork. Well done to such a fantastic group of students who’s commitment and dedication to the VEX programme has been admirable. Huge thanks to Gary Cullen and John Conaghan from ATU Donegal – Department of Computing for organising today’s eve

Being involved in this project has been a wonderful experience, allowing Junior and Senior students to come together to be creative, mentor and pass on skills and expertise. (Cathlín Callaghan)
My role in the team was working in the Autonomous period. This involved programming the robot to carry out different tasks. I am so excited about going to Cork. Its been a great experience and so much fun so far learning abut VEX Code.

Everyone is rooting for FVC RoboVex and hope continued success is in store in the All Ireland Final in Cork.
