Glitz & Glamour at the FVC Prom 2024
The Cappry Suite in the Villa Rose Hotel transformed into a star-studded red carpet as 6th Year students from Finn Valley College arrived in their finest attire for our annual Prom, themed “A Night at the Oscars.” The event, held on Friday 18th October, was a dazzling display of elegance, glamour and celebration.
As students arrived in various modes of transport, they were supported by family, friends and school staff. The foyer was a buzz with clinking of glasses, flashing cameras and the excited chatter of their peers. The room was beautifully decorated with Hollywood-inspired décor, complete with golden statues, balloon arches and movie cutouts (courtesy of Eclipse Cinemas). DJ Shay provided the perfect soundtrack for the evening, playing a mix of popular hits and classic tunes.
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the crowning of the Prom King and Prom Queen. Adam Gallagher and Shannon Gillen were chosen by their peers for their outgoing and friendly nature and involvement in school activities. Best Dressed Male Sixtus Umeh and Best Dressed Female, Abi Mulhern looked stunning in their formal attire.
The prom also featured a delicious dinner, a video collage of students, a photo booth and fun awards. The “A Night at the Oscars” prom was a resounding success, providing students with a memorable and unforgettable experience. The evening would not have been possible without the efforts of many. Thanks to Year Head, Ms Mc Granaghan, Class teachers, Ms Murray, Ms Ní Dhomhnaill, Mr Duggan and to Jennifer Gallagher for helping to organize such a lovely evening; which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Also special thanks to the proactive Student Prom Committee who ensured a fantastic night of laughter, dance and memories. The event showcased the talent, creativity, and spirit of Finn Valley College.
“Live for today, plan for tomorrow, party tonight” is a quote that definitely captions this wonderful evening. As a school we are very proud of this group of students and we wish them the very best for the year ahead.
Thanks to Gerard Mc Hugh for photography on the night and capturing some lovely photos and to Ms Mc Geehan for compiling the video.
