“Other Worlds” Art Visit
Finn Valley College Leaving Certificate Art students had the opportunity to attend an inspiring workshop as part of the ‘OTHER WORLDS’ Exhibition, at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny, Co.Donegal. This is an exhibition curated by Early Career Curator in residence Daniel Nelis at the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, Co.Donegal.
Students explored & considered nature not just as a reality we encounter but as an interpreted space that reveals the diverse perceptual worlds we are in habit.
L-R Daniel Neils, Daithi Boyle, Alisha Mulhern & Molly Duffy
Students created observational studies of their favourite artwork and discussed works in the exhibition, as well as curating their own small series of works from the @artscouncilireland collection.
Such an active & engaging experience for all…..
Students Statements:
Today’s workshop definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone but despite this I feel as though I benefited greatly from this workshop. It will make me think more about how I will interpret and observe art in the future. This learning will certainly help me with my Visual Art Leaving cert paper.
Molly Duffy
Today’s workshop will help me when describing art for the Leaving Certificate Visual Art exam. I also enjoyed working collaboratively with other students from Deele College.
Danny Mc Menamin
Thank you Daniel for this great learning opportunity, fantastic to see the students drawing & responding to different works in such a wonderful gallery space.
