First year students STEAM ahead with their subject choice.

The STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and maths – are being highlighted as important subjects that are needed to drive our economy into the future.  Knowledge in these areas will help students to become scientifically – literate citizens and make well – informed decisions regarding major global issues such as climate change and sustainability.

But there has been some debate on whether Art should also be added to the mix; valuing creativity and design as a bonus to these disciplines.

Whether it be STEAM or STEM, the first year students at Finn Valley College have had great fun over the last number of weeks tasting subjects before making important decisions on their future learning.  They also participated in Maths and Science Week fun.
