Gortahork Adult Education Centre

The Gortahork Adult Education Centre began life as a Vocational School from 1961 until the early 1972, when following a meeting between local parents in the Gortahork area and the Department of Education, the Department decided to favour a Community School which was  duly built in Falcarragh (Pobailscoil Chloich Cheannfhaola/Falcarragh Community School) and opened its doors in 1972 involving the closure of Gortahork Vocational School.

The Vocational School building in Gortahork has been maintained and substantially enhanced as an Adult Education Centre from 1975 and is a key element of the Committee’s structure of six dedicated Adult Education and Training Centres throughout the county today.
